  2. So you put the spice rub on it but then wiped it off? Wouldn't that take away the crust that the traditional spice rub makes? It looks delicious. I think I might actually make this for tomorrow night. I've had some thighs in the freezer forever because I am never sure what I want to do with them. With the squash though, I can never get it cooked just right. I've tried the knife trick but it always comes out way too mushy – which is gross. Any tips are greatly appreciated!

    Also, I have a stainless steel frying pan. Does it make a big difference?

  9. Another interesting recipe, may I make a suggestion I put my cast iron pan in the oven when I'm preheating it and when I'm ready to cook my pan is perfectly heated.

    Couldn't you, for that proper frugal moment, just roast your squash seeds and put them in the food instead of pumpkin?
